Sprint shares have doubled over the last few months, thanks in part to speculation that recent statements from the company hint at Sprints willingness to consider a merger with rival T-Mobile USA. There is clearly some appeal to combining the third- and fourth-largest carriers to create a stronger rival to AT&T and Verizon.
